And there were squirrels *everywhere* So many many many squirrels. And they were not scared of us. They jumped on the picnic table while we were eating. We all ran after them yelling, and they would come right back. We threw pebbles and sticks in their general direction, and they chased the things, thinking it might be food. *Somebody* fed them at some point. Anyways, That whole gorgeous area? A huge squirrel tunnel network.
We headed out soon, and had a lovely visit with Joe and Ivy and kids and dog, who were on their way back home from Tahoe, where, incidentally, we had reservations tonight. It was a lovely but brief visit. (I feel I've written those words before)
Ivy's dad apparently didn't understand why anyone would stay at Folsam lake, but we did like it, however short and squirrely the visit was.
Arriving at the lake looked like this:

We set up the tent:
And Henry, almost all by himself, put all of our food (there's a lot of it! We have THREE little boys with big appetites!) into the bear-box.
We hiked, we biked, we ate, we drank, we sang, we read .... it was fun.
