Sugarloaf Ridge continued

Yay for working camera batteries! We tried it right out, as my mother would say, "Irma in full action"
The kids made friends in the neighboring campsites, including one little boy who learned to ride a bike while we were there. There was also a family who was living there until they found a place to live in Santa Rosa. They had moved there because the dad had found a job, but the housing is difficult. They don't have that much money, and they have a dog, and two children, which means housing codes require them to have a certain number of rooms, plus there's not enough housing to go around. On this busy weekend (labor day is coming up) the campsite is completely booked with reservations, so they will have to drive 4 hours to a grandparent's house, but be back in time for work on Tuesday morning. Everyone was so interesting to talk to. The other family is well off and always camping for fun. The dad was a hands on dad who often goes to work from a campground, and teaches kids to do things the way I teach them (letting them get a bit scraped up sometimes)

This is what the kids did together - a picnic in the wildflowers!

Then one of the girls from one of the families painted our car with symbols, which my children fell in love with. I will never be allowed to wash my car again. Not that I ever did before, of course.

We're off to Folsam Lake!
