Manchester

We went on a visit to my Auntie Frieda in Manchester, over the Bank Holiday weekend.

On the train up north, we saw some beautiful country side:

When we got there, it was cold, and raining, but no matter... Auntie Frieda put our clothes right in the dryer, and already had hot food ready and waiting. Amazing. You can see Theo is ready to eat!

After dinner we had some lively entertainment...
Henry couldn't decide what his favorite thing was: the chairlift for the stairs........

 ...........or the singing talking fish!
Theo and Irma couldn't decide between the lovely fire in the living room
and of course music.... What more can one want in life than good company, music and warmth?

The next day, the sun barely started to shine, and we got to admire the beautiful garden.

And the beautiful flowers by the dining room:
In fact, we decided the light was just perfect enough to do a group portrait by the window.

The group portrait was a little difficult to manage, since the children would rather be distracted by the doggies, and we had to precariously balance the camera around a lot of fragile things on the end table, we did well though, we thought.
Because the sun really did come out, and dry up all the rain, we got to have a very quick tea before the sun hid behind the trees again.

Theo was charmed because Auntie Frieda had a watering can (a yellow one!) just his size that he was allowed to use to help water the garden.

All that garden work tired him out!
We were all happy!

We took a quick jaunt to buy Theo some new shoes as his had fallen apart after arriving in London. He was very proud to wear them on the train ride home. The visit was so quick and short, but each moment was lovely.

On the way home we took some more train pictures, and some sunset pictures.
